About Our Speaker

Prof. Dan Douer is an attending physician in the Division of Hematology at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California. In the last 15 years he shifted his focus from acute promyelocytic leukemia to adult acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) and has established himself as one of the pioneers of applying pediatric treatment approaches to adults. He designed one of the first “pediatric-inspired” regimens for adults with newly diagnosed ALL, paving the way for safer asparaginase administration with improved outcomes and establishing the role of asparaginase in adult patients. He is recognized as an international authority and therapy area expert for adult ALL and the clinical use of different asparaginase formulations.
